Naili's Place @ Sentul

Naili's Place in Sentul was a nice place to go for dinner. The place is surrounded with music and natural setting. The food was great, especially the nasi lemak and ABC.

ABC special RM6.00
Still taste good like last time.

Rainbow Tree RM10.90
Mixture if Kiwi, Strawberry and Mango. Refreshing
drink but is kinda too rich and is very sweet.

Spaghetti Marinara RM15.90
Seafood sauce with prawn, squid, tuna and musses.
Nice sauce but the spaghetti is a bit too soft.

Fish and Chips RM18.90
Fish fillet is over fry, the batter coating is too hard.

Tom Yam Beehoon
Tom Yam soup is nice.

Sizzling Chicken RM27.90
The sizzling plate is too hot until the gravy all dried up.
The potato wedges and broccoli is burned due to the plate over heated.

I was kinda disappointed with the food, it just doesn't taste as good as it used to be. The standard dropped a lot compared to years back. Is either they have change the chef or business is too good that they don't bother about the food quality?

Leo's Cafe with Amber Chia as ambassador

Cafe also have ambassador???

Leo's concept - Trendy cafe offers a unique lifestyle concept in the food and beverage industry. This uniqueness is based on its innovative & creative selection menu for the current food trend, coffee, pastry and in-house made Gelato.

Go Green RM5.80
Green tea with a wedge of lemon. The glass is very small
and filled with a lot ice and a huge lemon. Therefore the
drink is very little and it's freaking expensive drink.

Leo's enrich coffee mixed with milk tea RM2.50
Leo's 'cham' is too diluted.

Clay pot teriyaki chicken rice RM8.80
This is one of their recommendation dish. The chicken thigh
cooked with kikoman teriyaki sauce is juice and tender but
it's cold when it served. I don't find this dish special and is
not up to my expectation. If this is really their recommendation
dish, I think the owner have a lousy sense of taste. One more thing
I must highlight, this dish wasn't cook in the clay pot, it's
actually served in clay pot.

X.O sauce Fried rice with chicken RM7.80
Hardly can taste any X.O sauce and it's luke warm when it served.

Nowadays there are so many of this kind concept cafe with great interior design, cozy and innovative menu. But end of the day how many of this concept cafe serve great food? Normally I don't set too high expectation towards this kind of concept cafe.

The food price is reasonable but the drinks and dessert is expensive .

Korea Black Bean Sauce Noodle

Past few days have been raining a lot. I tend to get hungry easily and strong hunger sensation when the weather is cold :) Tonight my boy friend suggested to cook Korea black bean sauce noodle 炸酱面 for supper and I think is a great idea.

Nong Shim brand black bean sauce noodle -RM3/pkt
Nong Shim is a quality and famous brand in Korea.

Black bean sauce noodle is a dish consist of noodle topped with thick savory fried black bean sauce made from cultured soybean.

top: powder soup packet
bottom: olive oil seasoning packet

Suggested cooking direction:

boil water, add noodle and powder soup packet with dried vege.

drain out the water and keep 6 spoonful of water

add the seasoning oil packet into the noodle, stir well and serve

The texture of the noodle is chewy and it taste flavorful because blend well with the black bean sauce. But the only thing have to adjust is the seasoning because it was a bit mild. Add a dash of salt and the noodle will be tastier.

First time for everything

This is the first time I'm eating durian mooncake :)

Frankly, the taste is not too bad. But it was too sweet. The whole filling is all durian. I believe durian lovers would love it.

Golden Dragon Boat brand mooncake has a relatively thin crust. The filling taste similarly to the Malacca famous durian kuih do-do.

Octopus ball: Tako Tao

After one and the half hours of window shopping in Mid Valley, it's time for some snack! We headed to Jaya Jusco superket at lower ground for Tako Tao octopus ball.

The octopus ball are made with an egg batter base. It's golden and crispy outside and inside is soft and moist. It's topped with Japanese barbeque sauce, mayonnaise, nori (seaweed) and sprinkled with dried bonito flakes, them seem to 'dance' on the Tako Tao.

First they put a flour mixture into a special hot plate. Then they add the octopus. As it cooks, they flip it and make it into balls.

RM4.50 for 3 Tako Tao
It tastes best when hot, but have to be careful though it's hot!

Chopstick Noodles House Mid Valley

Today went to Mid Valley for window shopping with my boy friend because he wants to look for some interesting product. Since we are going to Mid Valley, I suggested why not we go to Oasis food court to eat the famous Pan Mee. When we reach there only we found out that the food court is closed. Not sure the food court is close for renovation or they close down the place.

Well, no choice we have to go somewhere else for lunch. Both of us feel like having something soupy and we decided to have lunch at Chopstick Noodle House.

We ordered:

Shanghai Ramen with shredded meat and preserved vegetables
上海榨菜肉丝拉面 RM13.90

The noodle was quite springy and the soup was
quite oily as you can see from the photo. The taste
of the soup is nice but is not hot enough.

Prawn Wantan Noodels 鲜虾云吞面 RM11.90
The texture of the noodle is nice but it contain boric acid
so it's a bit bitter. It comes with 5 big fresh prawn wantan.

The quality of service is not so good and the waiters are not so well-trained. First, they don't have enough menu so we have to wait for other customer to finish order the food then only we can have the menu. Right after we have finish our meal, the waitress quickly give us the order chip to make sure the food that we ordered is all served. Hey, the order chip is suppose to give to the customer to check when the last dish are served and is not after we finish eating. I saw one of the waiter bring the bill to the customer and they were just started eating. Obviously, the customer wasn't happy with that waiter.

Hakka Recipe

The signature dish at Hakka Recipe Restaurant is Yong Tau Fu and it is best to eat with the curry Chee Cheong Fun or the normal chee cheong fun roll with dried shrimp.

But because we were too hungry and feel like having something heavy like rice or noodles. Otherwise I would have order the Yong Tau Fu and chee cheong fun.

Curry lo shu fun RM5.00
The curry is too rich and oily.

Hakka fried pork meat rice RM6.50
Only have 3 pcs of pork. The fat in pork is too much,
barely have any meat. The taste of the pork is nice.

The food portion is kinda small, therefore it doesn't really satisfy our hunger. I think partly because we were too hungry :) and to us that was like our appetizer.

keep focused on your goal

Problem
Achieving our goals is based on writing out our goal, keeping mind on it & then working towards our goal. Human beings tend to forget things. Sometimes we might forget our goal in the craziness of a busy and challenging year.

Solution
To stay focussed on our goal, we can use computer password or maybe Facebook password to remind us whatever we want to achieve. In our daily life, we will enter password at least once a day and it will then act as a daily reminder. Consequently, we subconsciously assign great importance to that goal, and tend to feel more committed to its achievement.

For an example, set your password- TAHITI2010. 'TAHITI' sets a specific target where you want to go for the next holiday vacation. '2010' sets a time frame to the goal forces a plan of action.

I hope that this idea may benefit you and help you to achieve your goal.

Golden Dragon Boat

Golden Dragon Boat specialties is shark's fin, abalone, barbequed suckling pig, peking duck and roasted chicken. I heard many good reviews for this restaurant. We had farewell lunch here with family, it was organized by Darren's aunt. The restaurant manager is good at recommending dishes and we don't have to look at the menu. We order a few simple dishes:

Gu Lou York
Specially ordered for Kyren, it's his favourite dish.
The meat was a bit hard.

Fried Kai Lan with mince pork

The kai lan chopped finely and fried with
minced pork, different cooking style

Claypot homemade tofu

I always like tofu with gravy. This is an excellent dish.
Tofu was good, soft and smooth. There are green pea,
mushroom, shrimp and minced pork in the gravy.

Black pepper deer meat

The deer meat is tender and is not too peppery.

Shi jap crispy pan fried wan yu

I like this dish. Crispy and golden brown outside.
The meat was moist and flaky inside.
